To help customers who have been dealing with the physical, emotional, and financial impacts of Hurricane Florence, last month Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA) suspended disconnections and late fees on all bills due from September 12, 2018, going forward. So customers have time to prepare for payment of their CFPUA bill, we are letting people know that bills due between September 12, 2018, and October 31, 2018, are due by October 31, 2018, to avoid a late fee. The late fee would only be applied to the charges incurred on the most recent bill and would not be compounded on prior unpaid charges.

During the week of October 22, we will be sending letters to customers whose accounts are past due and being scheduled for disconnection. CFPUA will begin disconnecting water services for those unpaid accounts the week of November 5, 2018. We also offer payment plans for eligible customers who need additional time to get caught up on their water bill—please contact us if extending your payments would be helpful. If you have questions regarding your account, you can reach Customer Service at 910-332-6550, stop by our main office at 235 Government Center Drive, or visit our website at www.cfpua.org.
