A CFPUA project to increase the resiliency of water and sewer infrastructure serving the Town of Wrightsville Beach will begin Monday, November 10.

Starting Monday, crews will begin work from the 2000 block of Eastwood Road to Summer Rest Road. Over the coming weeks, a contractor for CFPUA will be constructing new water and sewer mains that will be installed under the Intracoastal Waterway.

During the project, the righthand westbound lane of Wrightsville Avenue/Eastwood Road will be intermittently closed. Portions of the lane will be temporarily closed from Summer Rest Road to the 2000 block of Eastwood Road.

All work and any needed lane closures will take place Mondays through Fridays, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., with normal road conditions outside of those hours.

In addition, pedestrian traffic on the Cross City Trail will be detoured around the work area via the Summer Rest Trail and Summer Rest Road.

Driveways to adjacent businesses will remain open throughout construction.

Work on this phase of the project is expected to last through February 1, 2026.

Additional traffic advisories related to this project will be posted at CFPUA.org and TownofWrightsvilleBeach.com.
