[ARCHIVED] Visit CFPUA at Lakefest this Weekend & Latest GenX Sweeney Plant Results

Visit CFPUA at Lakefest this Weekend

CFPUA will have a display this weekend at Cape Fear River Watch’s annual Lakefest event. The outdoor environmental education event is located at Greenfield Lake and will run from 10 am to 2 pm.

For attendees interested in learning more about our efforts to protect the area’s natural resources, staff will be present to give information on CFPUA initiatives such as our Fats, Oils and Grease program, Backflow Prevention, and sanitary sewer overflow reduction.

New GenX Results From the Sweeney Water Treatment Plant

We have received results for March 26 from our on-going GenX testing at the Sweeney Water Treatment Plant. Levels of GenX continue to remain below the DHHS health goal of 140 parts per trillion (ppt).
