[ARCHIVED] TRAFFIC ADVISORY REMAINS IN PLACE: Traffic Advisory for Carolina Beach Road & Shipyard Blvd

Repairs are taking longer than anticipated. The travel advisory remains in place until the late afternoon or early evening.


Affected customers in the area should have water service restored around 12 noon. The associated boil water advisory remains in effect.


Drivers are asked to use caution or find an alternative route when approaching this area. Cape Fear Public Utility Authority appreciates our customers' continued patience.

CFPUA's emergency contractor State Utilities is making an emergency repair to a 12” water main.  CFPUA crews have shifted the outer southbound lane of Carolina Beach Road and the outer westbound lane of Shipyard Blvd to allow single-lane travel in the area. For more information, please see the attached Traffic control map.

This travel advisory begins immediately. The travel advisory is expected to last six hours.

There will be a boil water advisory to follow.
