NEW HANOVER COUNTY COMMISSIONER ROB ZAPPLE JOINS CFPUA BOARD
Replaces former NHC Commissioner Tom Wolfe

Wilmington, NC (January 14, 2015): Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA) is pleased to announce that New Hanover County Commissioner Rob Zapple was seated today as a board member of the Authority. Commissioner Zapple replaces former New Hanover County Commissioner Tom Wolfe. Mr. Zapple’s current term on CFPUA’s Board runs until June 30, 2015.
Commissioner Zapple has lived and worked in New Hanover County for the past 17 years as a community member and small business owner. He is a licensed General Contractor, residential and commercial builder, and owner of Rob Zapple Design and Build Inc. An advocate for the public process, he is active with several non-profit organizations that serve Wilmington and New Hanover County. His community involvement includes: Rotary International, Downtown Wilmington Rotary Club; Past President and current second Vice President of the Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts Inc. Board of Trustees; WHQR Board of Directors; Children’s Museum Board of Directors; and former member of the Cape Fear Green Building Alliance Board of Directors.

CFPUA Chair Pat Kusek thanked former Commissioner Wolfe for his service on CFPUA’s Board. “Tom’s leadership on a variety of issues was vital to our success,” said Kusek. “He particularly focused on how well we were managing our resources for the benefit of our customers. They can be proud of how he represented their views on our board.”

Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA) was formed by the City of Wilmington and New Hanover County to combine their water and sewer operations. It began operations on July 1, 2008. Today, the Authority serves more than 67,000 water customer accounts and more than 65,000 wastewater customer accounts.
