CFPUA has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for customers in the area of the New Centre Drive and North Kerr Avenue intersection Saturday, October 25. Water service in the area is back to normal operation.
ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
A precautionary boil water advisory will be in effect starting at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 23, for customers in the area of the New Centre Drive and North Kerr Avenue intersection.
CFPUA crews will be replacing a valve on the water distribution system.
Approximately 150 customers will be impacted at the following addresses:
- 522 to 618 N. Kerr Ave.
- 4525 to 4609 New Centre Drive
- 4108 to 4270 Sunglow Drive
- 700 to 742 Indica Court
- 620 to 745 Tabor Lane
- All of Crimson Court, Shortfin Drive, Angelfish Lane, Sagedale Drive, Minnow Way, Amberjack Drive, and Crawdad Court
This message will be updated when the advisory is lifted.
Periods of low or no pressure in the water distribution system increase the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.
When under a boil water advisory, customers are asked to boil their water for one minute, then allow it to cool prior to consumption. Alternatively, they may use another water source such as bottled water.
Consumption includes drinking, brushing teeth, making ice, food preparation, fruit and vegetable washing, pet consumption, and the preparation of baby formula. Customers do NOT need to boil water prior to using it for showering or bathing.
Before a boil water advisory is lifted, CFPUA lab staff test the water to ensure it is safe to drink.
