Due to the work area around a sewer repair being expanded, all lanes of South Fifth Avenue between Dock Street and Market Street are now closed effective immediately Monday, June 9.
As of 2:30 p.m. Monday, both northbound lanes of the zero block of South Fifth Avenue are closed.
Both southbound lanes of South Fifth Avenue also remain closed between Market Street and Dock Street as part of a separate, ongoing infrastructure project in the area.
Drivers are asked to detour around the closure using Dock Street and South Fourth Street.
The righthand eastbound lane of the 400 and 500 blocks of Market Street also remains closed, with traffic shifted into the inner eastbound lane.
The closures are expected to remain in place through Monday evening.

Lanes at the intersection of Market Street and South Fifth Avenue near downtown Wilmington are closed effective immediately Monday, June 9, for an emergency sewer repair.
The righthand eastbound lane of the 400 and 500 blocks of Market Street is closed, with traffic shifted into the inner eastbound lane.
The lefthand northbound lane in the zero block of South Fifth Avenue is also closed, with traffic shifted into the outer northbound lane.
Both southbound lanes of South Fifth Avenue also remain closed in the zero block as part of a separate, ongoing infrastructure project in the area.
The lane shifts are expected to remain place for approximately 5 hours Monday while crews complete an emergency repair to CFPUA sewer infrastructure.
