[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Rogersville Road Area

Work zone traffic sign

A boil water advisory for customers in the Rogersville Road area has been lifted as of Wednesday, March 12. Water service in the area is back to normal operation.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:

A section of Rogersville Road is closed effective immediately Monday, March 10, due to a water main break in the area.

Rogersville Road is closed to through traffic in both directions between Dogwood Drive and Heron Run Drive. Local traffic will still be allowed.

Approximately 100 residential customers are under an emergency boil water advisory. The following addresses are impacted:

  • 106 to 200 Rogersville Road
  • All of Heron Run Drive
  • All of Bittern Court
  • All of Limpkin Court
  • All of Bradley Pines Drive
  • All of Baywood Drive
  • 6201 Wrightsville Avenue

Periods of low or no pressure in the water distribution system increase the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.

When under a boil water advisory, customers are asked to boil their water for one minute, then allow it to cool prior to consumption. Alternatively, they may use another water source such as bottled water.

Consumption includes drinking, brushing teeth, making ice, food preparation, fruit and vegetable washing, pet consumption, and the preparation of baby formula. Customers do NOT need to boil water prior to using it for showering or bathing.

Before a boil water advisory is lifted, CFPUA lab staff test the water to ensure it is safe to drink.
