At its regular meeting Wednesday, the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority Board recognized outgoing member Larry Sneeden for more than a decade of service to CFPUA and its customers.

Mr. Sneeden was first appointed to the CFPUA Board in 2012 by the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners. During his tenure, he has served as Board Secretary and Treasurer, as Chairman of the Board’s Long Range Planning Committee, and as a member of the Sustainability Committee.

Larry SneedenMost recently, Mr. Sneeden was one of two Board members selected to represent CFPUA on a task force evaluating the feasibility of a potential utilities consolidation with the Town of Wrightsville Beach. While Mr. Sneeden no longer will be a CFPUA Board member, the Board voted Wednesday to appoint him as a special advisor to the Board as the consolidation study continues.

A native Wilmingtonian, Mr. Sneeden has worked for more than 40 years as a consulting engineer in the region. He is also a former member of the Wilmington Planning Commission and Subdivision Review Board.

“It has truly been a pleasure working alongside Larry as a CFPUA board member,” Chairwoman Jennifer Adams said. “He has been a tireless advocate for the organization, and was always striving for innovative, sustainable, and engineering-driven solutions to our issues.  We can't thank him enough for his years of service to CFPUA.”
