A section of North 23rd Street will be temporarily closed Wednesday, December 21, following an emergency water main repair.
Starting at 10 a.m., North 23rd Street will be closed to traffic in both directions between Market Street and Chestnut Street. The closure is expected to remain in place for 4 hours.
Eastbound traffic is asked to detour around the closure using North 17th Street to Chestnut Street. Westbound traffic should detour using Kenwood Avenue to Chestnut Street.
Local traffic will still be allowed in the area of the closure.
The closure will allow crews to restore asphalt in the 0 and 100 blocks of North 23rd Street after an emergency water main repair was completed overnight.
