[ARCHIVED] Veterans Park water station closed for repairs, expected to reopen later today

CFPUA crews today are working to repair a broken pipe serving the Veterans Park water station.

Service should be restored by the end of the day.

A customer reported a leak at the Veterans Park station Tuesday afternoon.

CFPUA opened the two stations to provide customers access to water from a groundwater source that does not contain GenX, a PFAS compound discharged into the Cape Fear River by the Chemours chemical plant about 100 miles upriver from Wilmington.
