[ARCHIVED] Possible Water-Related Scam in King's Grant Area

SFinance18061313330

Please be advised people claiming to be CFPUA employees are going door to door talking to residents about water quality. SFinance18061313330CFPUA has received reports that people posing as CFPUA employees are making their way around the King’s Grant neighborhood. They are notifying residents not to drink the water and that they will be coming back to draw samples.

CFPUA has three reports of these incidents.

All CFPUA employees wear a badge (see example) and we would not need to enter a home without scheduling it in advance. If you are unsure if a person in your area is a CFPUA employee, you can call Customer Service at 910-332-6550 to verify them as a CFPUA employee.

CFPUA drinking water quality must meet strict standards and is regularly tested. You should not feel any pressure to pay or engage in any water testing.

As a safety precaution, do not let anyone you do not know into your home. Call 911 if you feel you are in danger.
