[ARCHIVED] Emergency Sewer Main Repairs in Calvary Cemetery begin March 5

Emergency Sewer Main Repairs in Calvary Cemetery begin March 5

CFPUA crews are responding to an urgent sewer repair on a 36” gravity sewer main. This pipe runs off 11th Street through the access road in the Calvary Cemetery. Immediate repairs are needed because the corrosion of the pipe can cause sinkholes.

The repair may take six to eight weeks to complete. Crews will not dig up the pipe in an attempt to limit cemetery disruptions during the renovations. Instead, CFPUA will use alternative repair methods. During the repairs, there will 12” black plastic pipe on the ground along the access road to the back of the cemetery. This pipe is all that will be visible during the work.

Cape Fear Public Utility Authority appreciates our customers' patience.
