As part of our commitment to stewardship, sustainability and service, the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority is continuing its collection and distribution system inspection and cleaning program. This program will re-establish existing easement access and allow for the most effective and efficient maintenance and operation of the systems responsible for distributing water and collecting wastewater.
The CFPUA has contracted two local survey companies, an easement clearing service and a camera and cleaning contractor to assist in the assessment of the utility systems. The easement clearing service will remove any vegetation necessary to provide access for the camera and cleaning contractor. The camera and cleaning contractor will then enter the easement area to begin removing debris and sediment from the utility pipes. Once the system pipes have been cleaned, the camera and cleaning contractor will visually inspect the system and assess the structural condition. Cleaning and maintenance helps prevent system failures that can prove costly to our customers and the environment.
The majority of the work is scheduled to take place during normal hours of operation, but there may be instances where night and evening work may be necessary. For questions regarding this program, please contact Carey Disney Ricks, PIO via the contact information included below, or email Eric Hatcher at eric.hatcher@cfpua.org, Tige Brubaker at tige.brubaker@cfpua.org or call (910)-332-6560.
