On the evening of December 2nd, CFPUA staff will conduct a public meeting designed to update the community on the construction work taking place with the project. It will review the work that has taken place and outline the work to be done over the coming months.
A review of the mandatory connection process which will follow the completion of the construction will also occur.
November 17, 2015
Dear Marquis Hills Area resident,
We are pleased to inform you that the joint septic-to-sewer project by New Hanover County and Cape Fear Public Authority remains on schedule despite the poor weather and is more than 50% complete. There is still significant work that remains but we feel that it is appropriate to hold a public meeting to inform you about where we are with construction. We’d also like to have the opportunity to review the mandatory connection process that will take place when the project is completed.
To discuss the current status of the project and review the mandatory connection process, we would like to invite you to a public meeting to be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Myrtle Grove Middle School, located at 901 Piner Road in Wilmington.
During this session, representatives from the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority will make a presentation detailing the work that remains on the project, the tentative schedule for completion, the current timetable for the mandatory connection process, options for deferring your connection, and any other important developments. Following the presentation, we will again open the floor to questions about the project and the mandatory connection process to come.
For those of you who cannot attend the meeting, the presentation made at the session will be posted after the meeting to the Marquis Hills Area Project page on our website, www.cfpua.org. There will also be another public meeting held later next year closer to the start of the mandatory connection process.
If you have any questions concerning this project prior to the meeting, please contact me at 332-6704 or communications@cfpua.org and I will be glad to assist you with answers and information.
Sincerely,
Mike McGill
Chief Communications Officer
