During its regular meeting Wednesday, May 8, the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority Board recognized long-serving member William (Bill) Norris, who will step down from the Board this summer.
Mr. Norris was first appointed to the CFPUA Board by Wilmington City Council in September 2013. He has served continuously on the Board since that time, also holding the positions of Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Treasurer.
He has also served as Chairman of the Board’s Finance Committee, and been a member of the Executive, Human Resources, and Communications committees.
Mr. Norris has had a nearly 30-year career with First Citizens Bank, where he is currently a Senior Vice President and Manager of Commercial Banking.
“Bill has brought not only valuable expertise in accounting and finance to this Board, but professionalism and leadership these past 11 years,” Board Chairwoman Jennifer Adams said. “His guidance has enhanced CFPUA’s fiscal responsibility and helped maintain the organization’s excellent bond and credit ratings, supporting the rehabilitation of CFPUA’s infrastructure and providing for smart, sustainable growth. I am grateful for the work he has done for CFPUA’s customers, and I wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
Mr. Norris’ term on the CFPUA Board ends June 30. Wilmington City Council will appoint his successor.
