[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Block of South Second Street reopened following emergency water repair

A block of South Second Street in downtown Wilmington has reopened to traffic following emergency repairs to a CFPUA water main.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE: 

A block of South Second Street in downtown Wilmington is closed effective immediately Thursday, December 2, while crews make an emergency repair to a CFPUA water main.

The 200 block of South Second Street is closed to traffic in both directions. Local traffic will still be allowed for residents to access their homes within the block.

Southbound traffic can detour around the closure via South Third Street by way of Orange and Ann streets, and northbound traffic can detour using South Front Street.

The closure will remain in effect while crews repair a leak on a CFPUA water main.
