[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Lane of Market Street at Porters Neck Road to reopen Friday

Work zone traffic sign

A turn lane of Market Street at the intersection with Porters Neck Road is expected to reopen the evening of Friday, April 23, following emergency repairs to a sinkhole.

The northbound right-turn lane of the 8200 block of Market Street onto Porters Neck Road will remain closed through approximately 5 p.m. Friday. Right turns onto Porters Neck Road can still be made from the rightmost northbound through-lane.

CFPUA crews filled in the sinkhole at the request of the N.C. Department of Transportation, and CFPUA’s emergency contractor is performing emergency repairs to sewer infrastructure in the area.
