[ARCHIVED] Part of Chestnut Street closed for sewer repair

CFPUA’s emergency contractor has closed part of Chestnut Street Thursday afternoon while crews repair a sewer main.

Carolina Civil Works has closed the eastbound travel lane of the 2800 and 2900 blocks of Chestnut Street to traffic. The closure is expected to remain in effect until 7 p.m. on Friday, February 7 to allow for emergency repairs to a sewer main at the corner of Chestnut Street and North 29th Street.

Automated traffic lights have been placed on Lyndon Avenue to direct traffic around the closure. North 29th Street between Lyndon Avenue and Chestnut Street is open only to local traffic during the closure.
