[ARCHIVED] Preliminary inspections show no significant storm damage to CFPUA system

Pipes at Sweeney Water Treatment Plant

CFPUA staff fanned out across the county Friday to inspect the community’s water and wastewater systems but so far have found no significant damage from Hurricane Dorian.

We plan to deactivate our Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at Sweeney Water Treatment Plant on Friday afternoon, following a final review of reports from crews in the field about the status of pump stations, treatment plants, and other infrastructure. The EOC has been staffed around-the-clock since before the storm.

CFPUA offices will remain closed for business today, September 6, and will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, September 9. A two-day grace period is available for customers whose bills are due this week. In addition, barring a disruption, customers may access their accounts by phone at (910) 332-6550. Bills also can be paid online at CFPUA.org.

If you need to report a water or sewer emergency, please call (910) 332-6565.
